Sports Tourism and Entertainment Director

Pulaski County is seeking a qualified, experienced, enthusiastic individual as its first Sports Tourism and Entertainment Director. The Director will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing strategies to enhance and promote sports tourism and entertainment within the community. This role involves working with various stakeholders, including the Pulaski County Sports Tourism Authority, sports teams, event organizers, local businesses, other government agencies and County Departments to attract and manage sports and entertainment events that drive economic growth and improve the community’s overall quality of life.

A Master’s Degree is preferred; however, a Bachelor’s Degree is required in Sports Management, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field. Pulaski County requires a background check, drug screen and driving record check for employment.

The salary scale for this position is $82,246 - $138,665 and is commensurate upon education and experience.

Sanitation Driver

The Pulaski County Public Service Authority Department is seeking to fill a full-time Sanitation Driver. This position inspects trucks to insure proper function and safety. Maintains records of stops, mileage, ect. Ensures safety of co-workers. Cleans around dumpsters and trash cans as necessary. Reports violations of refuse ordinances to supervisor. Cleans refuse truck and equipment. The ideal candidate must be able to operate automotive equipment safely and effectively, understand and follow oral instructions, and be able to supervise the work of unskilled helpers.

Firefighter

The Pulaski County Public Safety Department is seeing applicants for a Full-Time Firefighter. This position will perform firefighting and rescue functions in conjunction with various County and Town Departments and personnel. Respond to calls for service and perform duties as assigned and per Department policy within the scope of training, qualifications, and capabilities. Perform designated activities to protect and preserve life and property from fire and other potentially hazardous situations, and related work as assigned. Perform fire suppression, rescues, prevention, community education, support, and other duties as directed. Conduct scheduled activities including maintenance, cleaning, testing and upkeep of apparatus and equipment. Provide support to other agencies and departments in accordance with policy and mutual aid agreements.

Library Circulation Assistant

Outreach Youth Services Assistant

Administrative Assistant - Public Safety

This position is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Administrative Offices of the Public Safety, Fire-Rescue, and Emergency Management Departments. Part-time Superintendent - Fairlawn Sewer Authority

Sanitation Worker

Emergency Medical Services – Field Staff

The Pulaski County Public Safety Department is hiring full-time Emergency Medical Technicians, Advanced EMT's, and Paramedics.

Minimum qualifications include EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic Certification, and completion of a state approved EVOC course. Applicants must be insurable under the Existing County of Pulaski vehicle policy, which currently requires a minimum age of 18 and 1.5 years of driving experience with an acceptable driving record. A background screening and drug and alcohol test is also required.

Full-time staff work 48 hours per week with variable shifts including 24-hour shifts as needed. Salary is commensurate upon education, training and experience. A full benefit package, which includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, VRS retirement, optional 457b retirement plan, paid sick, vacation and holidays are included in this position. Deputy Sheriff

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department is hiring for a Deputy Sheriff position. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license. Prefer applicants with State Law Enforcement Certification and two years of college credits; however, selected non-certified LEO applicants will begin the academy in July 2024. Extensive background investigation and medical examination is required. Applicants must have 20/20 corrected vision and have proportionate height and weight. Preference will be given to applicants who are a resident of Pulaski County.

The anticipated salary for non-certified applicants is $49,000 based upon successful completion of the NRV Criminal Justice Training Academy and field training. Tenured LEO’s would receive additional pay based upon experience and years of service ranging from $52,000 - $60,000.
