Environmental Services Tech - Part Time

Applications are now being accepted for a part-time Environmental Services Technician with Pulaski County. Water Treament Plant Operator Class II

The Pulaski County Public Service Authority is seeking a qualified Water Treatment Plant Class II Operator for a 3.0-mgd conventional surface water treatment plant. A current Class II Water Treatment Certificate issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia is required, a class I is preferred along with a high school diploma or equivalent and five or more years of responsible experience operating a Class II or higher surface water treatment plant. PC Technician

Garage Mechanic

Pulaski County is seeking a qualified mechanic for the garage facility located in Dublin, Virginia. Applicant must possess knowledge of utilization of proper hand tools required to perform mechanical work on numerous fleet vehicles that includes but is not limited to: maintenance, diagnoses and repairs, air conditioning systems, specialized equipment, hydraulic, vacuum and electronic controls, precision instruments, gauges, wheel alignments, saws, grinders, drill presses, break lathes, welder, torches, computer diagnostic equipment, etc.

Courthouse Baliff

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department is hiring for a certified law enforcement officer with experience in providing courthouse security as a bailiff. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license. Prefer applicants with State Law Enforcement Certification and two years of college credits; however, selected non-certified LEO applicants will begin the academy in July 2022. Assistant Foreman/Boat Operator - Friends of Claytor Lake

Aging & Disability Supervisor - NRV Agency on Aging

The New River Valley Agency on Aging is seeking an Aging & Disability Supervisor. A Supervisory position with oversight of the services staff that assesses individual’s need for social and health services, i.e., Agency on Aging services, public benefits, information on and referral to other agencies. Also included is administrative work in the Homemaker and Respite Care programs to ensure that client services are scheduled with sub-contractors and that services are being provided as arranged through monitoring that includes telephone calls and onsite visits.

Qualifications: At least a Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field is needed, along with experience working with older adults and/or individuals with disabilities. Leadership skills needed and supervisory experience preferred. Must be able to travel within the New River Valley and outside of the New River Valley as needed for job related work. Must be able to safely lift up to 25 pounds.
