Tourism Director
Pulaski County is searching for an energetic, resourceful, experienced Tourism Director who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial and growth-oriented environment. This position is responsible for promoting tourism and devising tourist development initiatives and campaigns with the specific intention of generating and increasing revenue for Pulaski County and its businesses. This position prepares tourist and visitor information as well as promotional materials and displays for various events and meetings.
Applicant must possess a Bachelor's Degree with studies focused in travel, tourism, leisure, business studies, marketing management and journalism. At least five years of tourism/hospitality experience is required as well as excellent marketing and communication skills. Selected applicant must undergo alcohol and drug testing requirements. The salary scale for this position is $59,100 - $82,519 and is commensurate upon education and experience.

Environmental Services Technician - Part-time
Applications are now being accepted for a part-time Environmental Services Technician with Pulaski County. This position is responsible for performing routine cleaning/custodial and maintenance duties as required for all Pulaski County Buildings. Randolph Park Summer Camp Director
Applications are being accepted for the position of a Summer Camp Director with Randolph Park. This is a part-time seasonal position between the months of May through early August. The position is responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of the Summer Camp Program that includes: ensuring the safety of campers, staff and patrons, compliance with park rules, programming, training programs, hiring, training and evaluation of camp personnel, records, reports, etc. Applicant must be at least 21 years of age and is preferred to have teacher licensure and/or certification, a Bachelor or Associates degree or actively enrolled in higher education. Must be certified in first aid, CPR and lifeguarding upon hire, employer provides certifications. Selected applicant must undergo alcohol and drug testing requirements. Salary band is $18 - $23 per hour and is commensurate upon education and experience.

Randolph Park Assistant Summer Camp Director
Applications are being accepted for the position of Assistant Summer Camp Director with the Randolph Park Summer program. This is a part-time seasonal position between the months of May through early August. The position is responsible for the coordination and delegated management for the day-to-day operations and safety of campers, staff and patrons while also assisting in camp counselor duties. Employee shares responsibility for ensuring compliance with park rules and regulations as well as safety and security by parents, campers and staff as well as maintaining camp programming. Randolph Park Seasonal Positions
Aquatics Director: Responsible for the management of Randolph Park pool that includes hiring, training, and supervision of lifeguards, pool attendants and other ancillary staff. Responsible for pool operation, facility equipment and standards of pool chemistry. Also responsible for safety compliance, rules and regulation of the facility. Must be 18 years of age, high school diploma required, must become a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or a Certified Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO) and become certified in First Aid and CPR. Training and required certification is provided by Pulaski County after hire. Previous aquatics facility management and supervisory experience preferred. Hourly Rate: $16 - $21
Assistant Aquatics Director: Responsible for the management of Randolph Park pool under the supervision of the Aquatics Director. Responsible for operation of pool chemistry and equipment. Also responsible for safety compliance, park rules and regulations and maintenance of pool facility. Must be 16 or older and actively enrolled as a Junior or Senior in High School, must become a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or a Certified Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO) and certified in First Aid and CPR. Training and required certification provided by Pulaski County after hire. Hourly Rate: $15 - $19
Lifeguard: Lifesaving, First Aid and CPR at Randolph Park. Fifteen and sixteen year old applicants will be considered if actively enrolled as a Junior or Senior in High School, previous experience in an aquatic setting is preferred, must be First Aid and CPR certified. Training and required certification provided by Pulaski County after hire. Hourly Rate: $13 - $17
Pool Attendant: Responsible for greeting patrons, collecting pool entry fees, counting fees, issuing armbands, cleaning and handling general patron inquiries. Must be 16 years of age and actively enrolled as a Junior or a Senior in High School. Previous work experience with the public is preferred, must possesses great communication and customer service skills. Hourly Rate: $12 - $15
Summer Camp Counselor: Responsible for providing indoor and outdoor activities for a wide age range of children. The Randolph Park camp occurs five days per week, ten hours per day during the summer. The Central Youth Camp is five days, five hours per day for four days per week. Counselors must be highly qualified to supervise large groups of children ensuring campers safety, conducting activities, collecting camp fees, frequent cleaning, attending to minor and major injuries and parental inquiries. Must be 16 years of age and actively enrolled as a Junior or Senior. Current enrollment in college or college graduate applicants preferred. Program welcomes current teachers to apply First Aid and CPR is preferred and may be required based on level of responsibility. Hourly Rate: $13 - $17

Assistant Boat Operator - Friends of Claytor Lake
The Friends of Claytor Lake (FOCL) is seeking a Clean-up Crew Assistant Foreman/Assistant Boat Operator that will be responsible for supporting the FOCL mission, vision, strategic plan, goals and management decisions by working with Pulaski County property owners, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and the Pulaski County PSA to clean Claytor Lake of floating debris in the form of wood and trash.

PSA Deputy Director - Water/Wastewater
The Pulaski County Public Service Authority is seeking to hire a Deputy Director that will oversee the Water/Wastewater Department. This position requires thorough knowledge of water/wastewater engineering and construction procedures, equipment used in the repair maintenance and construction of public works projects, ability to comprehend plans, specifications and detailed reports, supervisory experience, GIS experience, grant experience, etc.

HVAC Technician

Probation Officer - New River Community Corrections
This is primarily a probation officer position but also requires the flexibility and aptitude to perform essential Pretrial Officer duties on a regular basis as needed. Probation responsibilities include conducting assessments on adult offenders referred by the courts and developing supervision and case plans accordingly based on the assessments and court orders while implementing and monitoring community corrections plans according to established standards, policies and procedures.
Knowledge of the criminal justice system and court ordered supervision. Effectively plan and manage assigned caseload, ability to handle stressful situations and high-risk individuals, computer knowledge, able to communicate orally and in writing.
A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Corrections/Human Services and/or related experience in case management, counseling, or in a criminal justice agency is preferred. Any combination of education and experience may be considered. Must possess excellent computer skills and excellent oral/written communication skills.

PSA Water/Wastewater Service Technician

E-911 Public Safety Telecommunicator
The County of Pulaski is seeking qualified applicants to fill experienced full-time E-911 Public Safety Telecommunicator postions. Job requirements include receiving and dispatching emergency (911) calls for police, fire and emergency medical services. Deputy Sheriff
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department is hiring for a Deputy Sheriff position. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license. Prefer applicants with State Law Enforcement Certification and two years of college credits; however, selected non-certified LEO applicants will begin the academy in July 2023. Extensive background investigation and medical examination is required. Applicants must have 20/20 corrected vision and have proportionate height and weight. Preference will be given to applicants who are a resident of Pulaski County.
The anticipated salary for non-certified applicants is $43,500 based upon successful completion of the NRV Criminal Justice Training Academy and field training. Tenured LEO’s would receive additional pay based upon experience and years of service. Also, a 4.56% increase will be given after a one-year successful orientation period.
