PSA Water/Wastewater Service Technician

Applications are now being accepted for three (3) Water/Wastewater Service Technician positions. This position performs routine, semi-skilled and technical work in the installation, maintenance and repair of utility systems and pump stations, monitoring and repair and maintenance of flow meters, minor repairs to automotive and other equipment, inspects work performed by private contractors, inspects sewage facilities, manholes, valves, etc. Position also requires knowledge and compliance of regulatory and safety requirements.

Marketing & Communications Coordinator

The County of Pulaski is seeking to fill a full-time Marketing and Communications Coordinator - PIO position at the Pulaski County Visitors Center. The primary duties include: the development of the tourism strategic plan to promote and increase revenue. The position will require the ability to think creatively and resourcefully while possessing knowledge of multimedia platforms, especially on various social media outlets, while still possessing knowledge of traditional platforms. The individual should understand the importance of research and be able to create and provide marketing material aligned with the tourism strategy. In addition, the individual will need good communication and customer service skills to process promotions to the public in person, via email, and/or phone pertaining to activities or general information about Pulaski County. HVAC Technician

General Services Crew Assistant

Garage Mechanic

Pulaski County is seeking a qualified mechanic for the garage facility located in Dublin, Virginia. Applicant must possess knowledge of utilization of proper hand tools required to perform mechanical work on numerous fleet vehicles that includes but is not limited to: maintenance, diagnoses and repairs, air conditioning systems, specialized equipment, hydraulic, vacuum and electronic controls, precision instruments, gauges, wheel alignments, saws, grinders, drill presses, break lathes, welder, torches, computer diagnostic equipment, etc.

Possession of a valid Virginia driver’s license is required and possession of a Virginia State Inspectors License is preferred. Position may require some second shift and weekend work.

E-911 Public Safety Telecommunicator

The County of Pulaski is seeking qualified applicants to fill experienced full-time E-911 Public Safety Telecommunicator postions. Job requirements include receiving and dispatching emergency (911) calls for police, fire and emergency medical services. Applicant must successfully pass a thorough background investigation, drug screen and have no felony convictions. Experience or training as an emergency communications officer, dispatcher or similar position required.

The base salary for this positon is $35,000; however, salary decisions are based upon certifications, education and experience. Deputy Sheriff

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department is hiring for a Deputy Sheriff position. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license. Prefer applicants with State Law Enforcement Certification and two years of college credits; however, selected non-certified LEO applicants will begin the academy in July 2022. Extensive background investigation and medical examination is required. Applicants must have 20/20 corrected vision and have proportionate height and weight. Preference will be given to applicants who are a resident of Pulaski County

The anticipated salary for non-certified applicants is $43,500 based upon successful completion of the NRV Criminal Justice Training Academy and field training. Tenured LEO’s would receive additional pay based upon experience and years of service. Also, a 4.56% increase will be given after a one-year successful orientation period. This position requires thorough knowledge of water/wastewater engineering and construction procedures, equipment used in the repair maintenance and construction of public works projects, ability to comprehend plans, specifications and detailed reports, supervisory experience, GIS experience, grant experience, etc.

Applicant is required to have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and a minimum of five year's experience and must have the ability to obtain a Professional Engineer’s License in Virginia.
