Heavy Construction Crew Worker

Pulaski County is seeking applicants for a Heavy Construction Crew Worker. This position is responsible for mowing and maintenance of County properties and special projects as assigned. Applicant must be able to operate the following equipment: Tractor trailer with detached trailer, mowing equipment, tandem dump truck, road tractors with hitch trailers, track loaders, Excavator, rubber tire loader, bucket truck and other similar heavy equipment.

A valid Commonwealth of Virginia Driver’s License is required with a CDL Class A Endorsement. Applicant must also pass a drug and alcohol, driving and background check.

This is a full-time position that includes full benefits such as health, dental, vision and life insurance, VRS retirement program, optional 457b retirement plan, paid vacation and sick leave, paid holidays and much more.

Probation Officer - New River Community Corrections

This is primarily a probation officer position but also requires the flexibility and aptitude to perform essential Pretrial Officer duties on a regular basis as needed. Probation responsibilities include conducting assessments on adult offenders referred by the courts and developing supervision and case plans accordingly based on the assessments and court orders while implementing and monitoring community corrections plans according to established standards, policies and procedures.

Skills & Requirements – Knowledge of the criminal justice system and court ordered supervision. Effectively plan and manage assigned caseload, ability to handle stressful situations and high-risk individuals, computer knowledge, able to communicate orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience – A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Corrections/Human Services and/or related experience in case management, counseling, or in a criminal justice agency is preferred. Any combination of education and experience may be considered. Must possess excellent computer skills and excellent oral/written communication skills.

Community Development Planning, Zoning & GIS Coordinator

Applications are being accepted for the position of a Planning, Zoning & GIS Coordinator with the Community Development Department of Pulaski County. This position performs routine analytical work as it relates to permit review, enforcement of ordinances and codes, administrative duties, guidance on plans and development, promotion of economic development activities, etc.

Tourism Director

Pulaski County is searching for an energetic, resourceful, experienced Tourism Director who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial and growth-oriented environment. This position is responsible for promoting tourism and devising tourist development initiatives and campaigns with the specific intention of generating and increasing revenue for Pulaski County and its businesses. This position prepares tourist and visitor information as well as promotional materials and displays for various events and meetings.

Grounds Maintenance Technician

Assistant Boat Operator - Friends of Claytor Lake

The Pulaski County Public Service Authority is seeking to hire a Deputy Director that will oversee the Water/Wastewater Department. PSA Water/Wastewater Service Technician

Applications are now being accepted for three (3) Water/Wastewater Service Technician positions.
