Assistant Sanitation Supervisor

Grounds Maintenance Technician

Pulaski County is seeking to fill two Grounds Maintenance Technician positions. These positions are responsible for the maintenance and mowing of all County owned properties while providing a safe and esthetic environment for our citizens. Engineering Technical Assistant

Pulaski County is seeking to fill the position of Engineering Technical Assistant with the Pulaski County Engineering Department. This position also serves as Clerk to the Public Service Authority Board of Directors. Associated roles include, administrative tasks related to the Building and Planning and Zoning Departments. Responsibilities include routine administrative work, filing, general office duties, permit reviews, and other technical work related to permitting enforcement of Pulaski County Ordinances and Codes. Construction Inspector

Pulaski County is seeking a qualified Construction Inspector that will be required to perform on-site inspections of various contracted construction projects for Pulaski County and the PSA. Inspections will include storage tanks, water pump stations, gravity sewer lines, sewer lift station installation and construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment maintenance/installation on public buildings and facilities as well as pedestrian trail and roadway construction.

Any combination of education and experience including HVAC, Electrical and plumbing certifications are preferred as well as VDOT Materials Certifications for Asphalt Field Level 1 and 2, slurry surfacing, surface treatment, soils and aggregates compaction, pavement marking, concrete field and work zone safety.

Library Public Services Coordinator

The Pulaski County Library is seeking a qualified Public Services Coordinator that oversees Circulation, Adult Outreach, Branch Services, Reference and assists with collection development. This position also writes reports, maintains statistics and conducts presentations to community groups as requested. Some driving is required. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

Must possess a Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited program and library certification as a professional librarian from the Library of Virginia. Experience in library public services and supervisory experience are preferred. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Sanitation Worker I

Applications are now being accepted for the position of Sanitation Worker I with the Pulaski County Public Service Authority. Applicants must have the ability to perform continuous heavy manual work in the collection and loading of residential solid waste. Emergency Medical Technicians

The Pulaski County Public Safety Department intends to offer full time employment to qualified Emergency Medical Technicians, EMT-A’s, Intermediates, and Paramedics. It is anticipated that several full-time positions will be selected to begin orientation during the Spring of 2021.

Must at a minimum be certified as an EMT and have completed a state approved EVOC course. Must be insurable under existing County of Pulaski vehicle policy, which currently requires employees are a minimum of 21 years of age to operate emergency vehicles.

Full-time staff work 48 hours/week variable shifts including 24 hour shifts as needed.

Full time positions include a competitive salary based on training and experience, a $1,500.00 hiring bonus (paid upon successful completion of a precepting program and probationary period), full benefits package including health insurance, and VRS retirement offered through the County of Pulaski. Part time employees receive an hourly wage based on training and experience. Positions classified as part-time do not receive additional employee benefits. Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

An Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney serves as a prosecuting attorney for the Commonwealth of Virginia in select misdemeanor and all felony criminal matters in the District and Circuit Courts of Pulaski County. The main focus of this position will be for additional coverage in General District Court along with coverage for Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court on an as needed basis. As part of the office, this position may serve as a Special Prosecutor in other jurisdictions within the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Pulaski Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office follows a vertical-prosecution model, in which the Assistant responsible for a case will pursue it from investigation or report through adjudication and appeal, as appropriate. A Virginia State Bar license in good standing is required. Perform other tasks related to employment as required by the Commonwealth Attorney of Pulaski County. Parks & Recreation Part Time Seasonal Positions - Summer 2021

Randolph Park Lifeguard - Responsible for the safety of all water park patrons and to enforce and adhere to all rules and regulations pertaining to the facility. Applicant must have a current Lifesaving, First aid, and CPR certification and ability to administer aide as necessary. Duties also include daily cleaning and maintenance of the pool, pool deck, all associated equipment, and pool bathhouse which includes restrooms, showers, floors, and emptying trash.

Randolph Park/Central Youth Center Summer Camp Counselor - Camp Counselors must be highly qualified to supervise large groups of children in both an indoor and outdoor setting. Work includes supervising large groups of children, ensuring campers safety, conducting activities, collecting camp fees, frequent cleaning of camp related areas, attending to minor and major injuries, and handling general inquiries from parents. Animal Care Specialist

The Pulaski County Animal Shelter is accepting applications for three part-time Animal Care Specialists. This position performs routine semi-skilled custodial work involving the care and cleaning of the animal shelter and ensures that proper cleaning protocol is adhered to by all those participating in cleaning of kennels and cages. Applicants should have good knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Experience working with animals is desirable. Rate of pay is $11 per hour. Working hours will be determined but will be set at no less than 4 hours per day or no more than 5 hours per day beginning at 8:00 a.m., Monday-Friday.
